Anyway, in the book the author spends a chapter talking about what she doesn't do. It for her was a way to free herself from the incessant 'to do' lists that plagued her life and her feeling of inadequacy when she didn't complete the list.
So I decided I'd start writing one for myself. Its actually pretty awesome thinking what I don't do and giving myself permission to NOT do something, and the grace to have an easy way out sometimes. And its a work in progress. Just now, minutes ago I added a new item to the list. So I may write about what I don't do from time to time but for now here's what I got:
I DO NOT:
-Make pie crusts from scratch (yes I'm sure its easy but I don't to it), Marie Calendar suits me just fine
-Make homemade frosting (yes I'm sure its easy and better for you than the store bought stuff but I simply just don't do it)
-Wear big earrings (not because I don't think they are adorable, I've tried wearing them before and I just don't think, even though I wish, they are my style)
-Paint my finger nails (because I'm a perfectionist)
-Make homemade lasagna I've priced it out and stouffers is actually a smidge cheaper than making lasagna homemade), this item will probably be chucked off this list at some point.
-Have indoor plants. I've tried oh how I've tried and what a waste of money it was.
-Drink coffee without creamer. My morning beverage no longer, completely, resembles a melted candy bar. Even though I do 1/2 skim milk and 1/2 creamer I still need creamer in my life every day to keep the world spinning in the correct direction.
-Wear skinny jeans without long shirts. Call me conservative, or call me chicken. Bella Swan I am not. I have however ventured out the front door in slim jeans. And if you are wondering there is a big difference between the two, slim jeans are much more 'chicken' friendly. I actually happen to adore slim jeans with a great pair of flats. If you have never experienced this combo, get thee to an outlet mall.
What's on your list?
Til next time, remember to find beauty in your midst!
